SOLO Wilderness First Aid Afloat – MITA Members

Wilderness First Aid Afloat (WFAA) contains all the same information included in the SOLO Wilderness First Aid course (Response and Assessment, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Environmental Emergencies, Survival Skills, Soft Tissue Injuries, and Medical Emergencies). It also includes additional topics specifically designed for boaters including: sea sickness, marine bites and stings, injuries that are more common in marine environments, and environment specific rescue scenarios.
As an approved United State Coast Guard Wilderness First Aid course the WFAA certification card will be sent to you directly from the USCG.

This is an incredible course! Not only will you gain the skills you need to care for people in a remote location. But, you will have a fantastic time…it is fun and fast-moving. There will be a mix of classroom sessions, practice sessions and outdoor scenarios. Check out some of the program reviews!
Instructor Nancy Zane has over 25 years of working, teaching, and playing in remote environments. In addition to teaching emergency medicine for SOLO she teaches an EMT class at the Waldo County Technical Center for high school students and is the founder of North Star Adventures!
Course includes: Materials for practice scenarios, snacks, hot drinks, WFAA book, WFAA map, 2 year certification and instruction.
