Wings & Water
May 18 @ 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM$110.00
North Star Adventures, Sebasticook Regional Land Trust & James Macdonald Art Guitars bring you Wings & Water.
Known for its unique and diverse farming community, rolling hills, trail system, and waterways Unity Maine is a hidden gem, just a short drive from the coastal village of Belfast.
Spend the morning exploring the wetlands of Unity Pond with ecologist Gerry Saunders. Explore the narrow passageways and listen to the sounds of spring as life returns to central Maine. The majority of the Unity Pond wetlands are only accessible during the spring season. I love this part of Unity Pond. The narrow passageways, sounds, smells, and plants feel almost tropical.
We arrive at the studio of artist James Macdonald in time for lunch, made from locally sourced ingredients. Menu may include: fresh meats from the Amish Charcuterie, locally made breads (made from locally grown grain), cheeses, vegetables, fruits, and ice cream.
Following lunch you will have the opportunity to make a bluebird house to bring back to your own garden. I have several bluebird houses, the joy of watching the fledglings is magical.
We end our day with a final paddle back to our starting point with a toast to our accomplishments, a full belly, and a bluebird house that will bring you joy for years to come.
This is a fundraiser for the Sebasticook Regional Land Trust. Ten percent of the proceeds will benefit this amazing organization.
Fee: Sliding Scale $75.00 – $110.00
