Winter Watercolor with Lesia Sochor
The Ducktrap River is a magical and inspirational natural resource. It is a perfect place to practice watercolor painting technique with artist Lesia Sochor. Connecting to the natural world allows you to open up creative energy often hidden deep within. Immerse yourself in the smells, sights, and sounds of winter. Let your creative energy flow from deep within.
Tanglewood 4-H Camp in Lincolnville Maine is the setting for this Winter Watercolor Adventure. We will either snowshoe or hike the trails along the Ducktrap River. This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful watersheds on the mid-coast. The sparkling water, ice crystals, suspension bridge and forest ecosystem are spectacular. Using this backdrop for inspiration artist and teacher Lesia Sochor will guide students in painting with watercolors. By observing the natural surroundings, weather permitting, students will do quick watercolor studies coming back to enlarge or combine what they’ve seen by painting indoors. If it is too cold to paint plein air, photographs will be taken of the environment and paintings made from them.
All art materials, instruction, and lunch (sourced locally) are included. Snowshoes are limited, please reserve early if you need them.
