Women’s Multi-Sport Acadia Adventure
September 21 @ 9:00 AM - September 24 @ 5:00 PM$575
Acadia National Park, the quintessential Maine adventure, is one of the most visited National Parks in the country. Escape the crowds with North Star Adventures as we explore this iconic National Park by sea kayak and foot.
Our sea kayak journey will take you to some of the quieter more remote coves, harbors, and islands. We will explore the less traveled harbors of Seal Cove and Pretty March. You may see seals, porpoises, herons, guillemots, osprey, and eagles. We will stop for lunch and breaks on some of the public islands in the bay. Maine islands are a gift. While conifers are the dominate species, rock weed, wildflowers, rocky coastline and occasional sand beaches will lift your spirits and fill your soul. If you have not had the opportunity to experience a Maine island now is your chance.
Our hiking journey will take us to the Northeast Harbor section of the island for some my favorite “bang for your buck” hikes. Beautiful views of Somes Sound, the Atlantic Ocean, and the lakes will great us as we explore this region. As well as exploring the off the beaten track destinations we will also visit the classic Ocean Drive where we will see Sand Beach, Thunder Hole and Otter Cliffs.
September in Maine is idyllic. Crowds have gone, nights are cooler, water is the warmest it will be and the quality of the light is beautiful. Fall is approaching, there is a slight hint of color in the trees, goldenrod is in full bloom and the critters are taking care of any last minute preparation for the long winter.
