Unity Adventures: Hiking
Hiking in the Caribou Speckled Wilderness
The Caribou Speckled Wilderness is a magical, off the beaten track, hiking destination. We will spend two nights and three days exploring emerald-green pools and feasting on spectacular mountain views. Hiking at a leisurely pace will allow us to immerse all our senses in the beauty of the mountains, forests, flowers, lichens and critters that occupy this wilderness area. We will stay at a base camp and do day hikes. After a day of hiking the emerald-green pools are waiting for you to take a refreshing dip. Learning the summer constellations and time around the fire will complete your day. All meals and camping equipment are included. Participants will need to bring a day pack, sturdy hiking boots, sleeping bag & pad, and personal items. A complete list will be sent upon registration.
Difficulty: While there are some steep sections on the trail they are short. I rate this trip as moderate. You will need to have a baseline physical fitness.
Cost: 295.00 includes meals, permits, and group camping equipment. (minimum of 4)
When available, meals will be prepared with local organic ingredients. Nancy specializes in outdoor cooking. She has been teaching students how to prepare healthy and delicious backcountry meals for 20 years.
